First of all I have to mention a thing. DON'T USE YOUR KNOWLEDGE AGAINST OTHER INNOCENT PEOPLE. Your knowledge about Cyber Security must be used to help others. Not to get personal profits. If you agree this start reading if you won't get ready to go to jail !
So, in my very first Cyber Security Tutorial I'm going to teach you how to protect yourself from Cyber Attacks. These are the most basic techniques you can use. So let's start.
1.Use strong passwords and don't save them in browser
What is a strong password ? Strong password must contain more than 8 characteristics. And also it must be a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols.
And never use same password for more than one account. And never same your passwords in your browser. Hard to remember different passwords ? Tired of sticky notes ? Then you must switch to a password manager. LastPass is a good password manager.
2.Use two-step verification
Use two-step verification every time it is available. It will add a very valuable layer of security to your accounts. Even someone is able to find your password he won't be able to login to your account because he has to enter the code only you can access.
3.Use a trusted antivirus and spyware
This is familiar to you isn't it ? We all use antivirus or spyware. But the real question is do we use a good antivirus and spyware. To help you out I'll provide a list of good antivirus and spywares.
4. Keep you apps up to date
I am quite sure you’ve read a ton of news about software vulnerabilities lately. Many people don’t take these issues seriously, since most security solutions are mainly created to fight off malicious software. But software vulnerabilities are not something you can ignore.Outdated applications are a popular way that hackers get access to your system. So keep your apps up to date if you don't need to get hacked.
5. Don't trust public wifi connections
There are many public wifi connections all around us. And also we use them when they are available. But do you know that those are really vulnerable to hackers ? Hackers always tries to steal your sensitive information using wifi connections. Public wifi connections don't have good security layers so it can be hacked easily.
I'm not telling you that never use public wifi networks. Use them but secure your computer before access them. Best way to secure your pc is to use a vpn service. I use Cyberghost because it is really trusted free vpn service. If have have some money to secure your computer use NordVPN. It is the best secure vpn service as I think.
6.Check the link before you click it
Phishing threats are usually done by using email messages that apparently come from financial institutions or well-known, trusted brands and persons.
These attempts to retrieve private information from a user provide links in the message that direct the victim to a fake web location, controlled by online criminals.
To make sure you won’t be infected by clicking on dangerous links, hover the mouse over the link to see if you are directed to a legitimate location. If you were supposed to reach your online banking website, but the link indicates something unfamiliar, then you should not click the link.
Thank you for sticking with me until the end!
Cyber Security is a bit hard to deal with because new techniques will be created very often. So up to date with cyber security world and learn more about it.
