How to activate Telnet

Today I'm going to show you how to activate Telnet. Before I show you how active Telnet I'll tell you what is Telnet. You can see what is telnet in a nut shell below.

Telnet is a simple, text-based network protocol that is used for accessing remote computers over TCP/IP networks like the Internet. Telnet was created and launched in 1969 and, historically speaking, you can say that it was the first Internet.

Do you like to use it as your network protocol ? Well, use it. And ready to hand over all of your secrets to other. You will see why I told you that .

Even if Telnet was great when it was invented and it revolutionized the use of technology, it does have some flaws. The worst of them is that it is not secure! Telnet sends and receives data only in plaintext, without any kind of encryption. This means that whenever you connect to a Telnet Server, your personal data like your username and password will be transmitted as clear text. Anyone who knows how to use an application for sniffing network connections, will see all the data being transmitted.

As you can see above it is really vulnerable. So never ever use it for serious things like transferring valuable data. So why would we enable it. There are plenty of times we have to use it. Most of times we have to enable it to get some fun using telnet. I'll show you some stuff later.

Let's enable Telnet. First thing to do is open Control Panel. Then you have to go to Programs. Then choose Turn windows features on or off.

Then a dialog box will open. There you have to scroll down until you find Telnet Client and Telnet Server.  Now check the box front of them. Oh..! You must connect your computer to Internet before click OK.  Then click OK.

If you do this for the first time it will take some time to complete this. After installing it you have to restart your computer and now you are done.

Attention ! You must disable Telnet as fast as you can after you done your work otherwise your passwords and usernames will go to wrong hands. Please remember this.

So I think you use Telnet safely. Don't enable it until you want to do something with it. If you have any problems about this please email me or comment below.

In my next post I'll show you a fun tip you can do with Telnet.
